I just saw the news about StarkWare, and I’m a bit surprised. This Layer 2 company is laying off staff and simultaneously announcing a reorganization into two business units. It doesn’t sound like a simple personnel adjustment; it feels like a strategic shift, moving from pure infrastructure to developing their own products.

CEO Eli Ben-Sasson announced this decision at a company-wide meeting, but didn’t specify the number of layoffs, emphasizing that this is a necessary streamlining. Those affected will receive emails, and the company has promised severance packages that exceed legal requirements, which is quite considerate.

This wave of layoffs is no longer new in the crypto space, but StarkWare’s move is a bit different — it’s not a forced contraction but an active realignment. It seems they’re paving the way for upcoming products. What do you think about this shift?
