So PiFest 2024 was actually a pretty big deal for pi merchants back in the fall. They opened up merchant registration in late October and ran this whole shopping period where Pioneers could actually use Pi to buy stuff from local businesses. I remember seeing a bunch of small shops signing up as pi merchants during that window.
The whole thing lasted about a week if I recall - from Oct 29 through early November. Not sure how many pi merchant spots actually filled up or how active it was, but the idea was solid. Getting real merchants to accept Pi in their communities would be the key to making it actually useful, you know?
Wondering if they've done more merchant onboarding since then or if that was just a one-time push. Building out a pi merchant network takes time though. Anyone here actually used Pi at a merchant during that period?
