Just read: The oldest countries in the world have histories that go back over 5,000 years. Crazy when you think about it. According to World Population Review, Iran is the oldest country, founded around 3200 BC, followed by Egypt in 3100 BC.

What surprised me: Vietnam is also among the oldest countries in the world, dating back to 2879 BC, as well as Armenia (2492 BC) and China (2070 BC). Even Israel and Georgia are said to have been founded around 1300 BC.

The list is based on the earliest known government. North Korea is also mentioned with 2333 BC, which is interesting. India with 2000 BC rounds out the list.

I find it fascinating how different the timelines are. Some of these oldest countries in the world have incredibly long histories. Source: World Population Review. Do you know any other facts about these ancient civilizations?
