Gold Derivatives Finance reports that on April 6, Bahrain’s foreign minister called on the United Nations to adopt a resolution authorizing the use of force to clear the Strait of Hormuz in order to avert humanitarian and economic crises. The Bahrain foreign minister said: « This draft is not seeking to escalate the situation, but is intended to provide a framework to prevent the further collapse of the international system by emphasizing the necessity of protecting freedom of navigation and transit and stopping further attacks. » (The Wall Street Journal)
