BeInCrypto Audit Finds No Broad Crypto-Funding Wave in India's Cockroach Janta Protests

SOL-3.10%

According to a BeInCrypto audit released on July 23, investigators found no public evidence of widespread crypto financing linked to India's Cockroach Janta Party protests during the movement's May 15 to July 22 escalation period.

Google searches for crypto-buying activity fell about 18% nationally during the escalation, while protest-related searches surged approximately 1,350%. Estimated USDT/INR turnover on major Indian exchanges dropped roughly 30%, and the USDT premium narrowed by about 44%. The on-chain review of labeled exchange addresses revealed no unusual inflows, and a social audit of 118 Telegram posts found no crypto addresses or payment wallets linked to protest organizers. Four protest-branded Solana tokens generated approximately $1.48 million in decentralized exchange volume, though no traced proceeds reached verified protest wallets.
