Bitcoin Payment Merchants Surpass 26,000 Globally, Up 76% in One Year

According to BTC Map, on July 7, the number of worldwide merchants accepting Bitcoin as payment surpassed 26,200, up 76% year-over-year. The platform reported 26,243 total merchants globally, with 16,176 merchants verified as actively operating within the past year.

BTC Map, which aggregates data through community contributions and verification, showed that over 61% of registered merchants have been confirmed operational recently, indicating Bitcoin payment infrastructure is expanding beyond accumulated registration figures to include verified, active merchant networks.
