Coinbase Launches Post-Quantum Cryptography Upgrade; PQ-CoreKMS to Debut Within One Year

According to Coinbase, on July 23, the company launched post-quantum cryptography upgrades with its self-developed PQ-CoreKMS system set to launch within one year, featuring automated signing pipeline combining secure enclaves, secret sharing and threshold cryptography to support quantum-safe custody once blockchains adopt post-quantum standards.

Coinbase will co-host a Bitcoin developer conference with Stanford University in August, bringing together core developers, cryptographers and researchers to discuss post-quantum migration strategies. As a founding member of the Bitcoin Security Coalition, Coinbase committed to funding Bitcoin developer quantum security work and contributing engineering resources to proposals like BIP-360.
