Honda Confirms Next-Generation Ridgeline Will Be U.S.-Produced After Temporary 2026 Production Halt

According to Honda's announcement on July 23, 2026, the automaker confirmed that the next-generation Ridgeline pickup truck will be produced in the U.S. following a temporary production stoppage later this year at its Alabama facility. Assembly is expected to resume within two years, likely in 2028. The production pause comes as the current Ridgeline has faced challenges meeting California emissions regulations. Honda aims to enhance the vehicle's ruggedness and capability in the redesigned model. Ridgeline sales declined approximately 3% in the first half of 2026, with annual sales ranging from 41,000 to 52,000 units since 2021, significantly trailing the segment leader Toyota Tacoma, which sold over 270,000 units in 2025.
