Kia Posts Record Quarterly Revenue but Operating Profit Falls 4.9%; Brokers Cut Price Targets

According to financial institutions, Kia reported second-quarter revenue of 33.6 trillion won, up 12.6% year-over-year, on July 24. However, operating profit declined 4.9% to 2.63 trillion won, falling short of market expectations. Despite recording the highest quarterly revenue in its history, the profit decline has prompted multiple brokers to downward revise their price targets on the automaker.
