According to Min Kyung-wook, deputy president of Korea Exchange, KOSDAQ plans to restructure its market into three tiers—Select, Standard, and Alert—by the end of 2026 to revitalize the 30-year-old market. The exchange aims to attract institutional capital through the Select segment while ensuring funding flows to Standard companies via active ETFs and index-linked products.
Alteogen, KOSDAQ's largest company by market capitalization, announced it will remain on KOSDAQ rather than move to KOSPI, signaling market confidence in the restructuring plan. The exchange is simultaneously pursuing AI unicorn companies as new listings.
