Ministry of Education and four other departments: will include artificial intelligence in teacher qualification examinations and certification content

Gate News message, April 14, the Ministry of Education and five other departments issued the 《"Artificial Intelligence + Education" Action Plan》. The plan clearly proposes improving teachers’ intelligence literacy and skills, developing standards for teachers’ intelligence literacy, and specifying the artificial intelligence literacy capabilities teachers should possess. Conduct artificial intelligence literacy training in a tiered and categorized manner based on the needs of different positions, and achieve full coverage through multiple approaches. Build a contextualized assessment and evaluation system, develop intelligent and tiered assessment tools, encourage each locality and school to carry out large-scale teachers’ literacy assessments, and improve teachers’ literacy and abilities in a targeted way based on assessment results. The plan also proposes promoting reform in the training of normal university students, incorporating knowledge of frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence into the curriculum system and updating the knowledge framework. Include artificial intelligence in teacher qualification examinations and certification content, set up intelligent education projects in national and provincial teaching achievement awards, and unleash the internal driving force for innovation in artificial intelligence.
