According to Yahoo Finance, OpenAI CEO Greg Brokman predicted on July 23 at a New York forum that the AI industry will continue to face computing capacity constraints for an extended period. "My strong prediction is that no matter what, we will remain in this computing shortage," Brokman said, noting that his company and others are facing difficult decisions about how to train models and scale products. Major tech companies including Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Google are also struggling to meet surging AI demand despite massive data center investments. Brokman added that as OpenAI develops new models and use cases, computing demand continues to outpace capacity expansion.
