Qualcomm Raises Chip Prices by Double Digits Starting September 1

QCOM-2.42%
According to Bloomberg, Qualcomm notified customers on Friday (July 24) that prices for products shipped from September 1 will increase by double digits. The chipmaker cited its inability to absorb further supplier cost increases and said efforts to source alternative components from new suppliers have been limited. The price hike reflects unprecedented semiconductor supply shortages affecting smartphones, data centers, and automotive sectors, as AI-driven demand for memory chips and other components strains global supply chains.
