South Korean Banks Raise Deposit Rates Above 3% Annually Starting July 23-26

According to Yonhapinfomax, South Korean banks including Hana Bank, Shinhan Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, and Woori Bank raised their deposit rates above 3% annually starting July 23–26, following increases in the Bank of Korea's benchmark rate. Hana Bank's 1-year fixed deposit product reached 3.20%, Shinhan Bank's 1-year deposit hit 3.2%, and KB Kookmin's flagship non-face-to-face product reached 3.20%. Online banks led the increases, with K Bank raising its 1-year fixed deposit rate to 3.71% and Kakao Bank adjusting to 3.6%. Savings banks averaged 3.88% for 12-month fixed deposits as of July 23.
