U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yield Falls to 4.627% on July 28 as Middle East Tensions Ease

According to Yonhap Infomax, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield fell to 4.627% on July 28 (down 1.30bp from the previous trading session close), driven by easing Middle East tensions and growing expectations for U.S.-Iran negotiations. President Trump stated he is willing to avoid bombing Iran's critical infrastructure, including bridges and power plants, if negotiations proceed. The 2-year Treasury yield dropped 2.50bp to 4.295%, while the 30-year yield declined 0.50bp to 5.120%. Oil prices also fell for a fourth consecutive day, with WTI crude futures down 1.90% and Brent crude down 2.13%, as reduced geopolitical risk concerns ease inflation pressures on bond markets.
