According to The New York Times, U.S. oil and gas executives have cashed out nearly $400 million in company stock since the Iran war sparked energy supply tensions and lifted oil prices. Analysis of SEC filings by environmental group Friends of the Earth found that ConocoPhillips executives led the selling spree with approximately $96 million in stock sales, followed by liquefied natural gas exporters Cheniere Energy and Venture Global. ConocoPhillips Chief Executive Officer Ryan Lance alone sold shares worth close to $80 million through two transactions this March. Trading volumes for all three companies have already surpassed their full-year 2025 levels.
