U.S. Stock Market Closes Lower on July 20, S&P 500 Down 0.2%, Nasdaq-100 Flat

The U.S. stock market closed on July 20 with mixed performance. The S&P 500 fell 0.2%, while the Nasdaq-100 ended roughly flat. Within Nasdaq-100 constituents, Honeywell Aerospace declined 4.5% as the largest loser, followed by Western Digital down 3.7% and Rocket Lab down 3.1%. Tesla fell 2.8% and Apple dropped 2%. On the gainers' side, Lumentum led with a 4.5% surge, while Teradyne climbed 3.4%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 0.4%, and the U.S. Memory Chip Index gained approximately 1.3%.
