The SEC will focus on cryptocurrency custody issues in an upcoming roundtable
Escrow became the focus of the SEC's third cryptocurrency roundtable
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) unveiled the agenda and panelists for its upcoming cryptocurrency custody roundtable on April 16 as part of its ongoing digital asset regulatory plan.
The third session in the series, titled "Know Your Custodian: Important Considerations for Cryptocurrency Custody," will take place on April 25 at the SEC's headquarters in Washington, D.C. The meeting is part of the agency's "Spring Towards Crypto Clarity," a series of five public roundtables launched by the SEC's Cryptocurrency Working Group.
The SEC's Cryptocurrency Roundtable series began on March 21 with a session on the definition of digital asset securities. The second roundtable, held on April 11, explored the regulatory issues facing cryptocurrency trading platforms. Discussions on April 25 will touch on the secure storage and protection of cryptoassets, with the last two events scheduled for May 12 and June 6.
The May conference will examine tokenization and the intersection of decentralized technologies with traditional finance. The June 6 roundtable, titled "Decentralized Finance and the American Spirit," will explore decentralized finance and its compatibility with core American values. All sessions are open to the public and will be broadcast live on the SEC's website and can be attended in-person by registration.
