The Layer 2 track will reach a turning point in 2025. These networks are evolving from experimental solutions into real infrastructure—what defines victory is no longer innovative technology, but who can build a moat for users and liquidity.

The current market situation is very clear: leading Layer 2 solutions are absorbing most of the ecosystem resources, with users and liquidity accelerating their accumulation. At the same time, many new chains are facing an awkward situation—lackluster trading volumes and insufficient reasons to convince the market why they should exist. This is not a technical issue, but an ecological issue.

The ability to distribute is becoming crucial. Whoever can attract developers, capital, and user inflow will survive in this competition. The majority left may become niche experimental grounds.

I noticed it a long time ago, no matter how amazing the technology is, it’s useless without users. Just like the bad jokes I make, no matter how talented I am, it’s lonely if no one listens. The ecosystem is the real topic; I’ve seen too many new chains die like this over the past year. OP and ARB have already won big; the rest basically have no chance. Speaking of which, after this round of elimination, will there be another dark horse, or is it really going to be set in stone like this? Just think about how difficult it must be for the developers of those small chains now, their tech stacks are all wasted. To put it bluntly, the strong will remain strong, and small chains have no way to survive. No matter how amazing the technology is, if no one uses it, it's just for show. Now it's all about who can attract users. Arbitrum is still at the top, while others are a bit precarious. This round of elimination is coming; it's time to clean up the garbage chains. The issue of a moat really hits home; L2s without Liquidity will eventually die.
