#比特币Layer2扩展 Seeing Lolli now support Lightning Network withdrawals, my first reaction is: good thing, but a bit late.

Do you remember when Thesis was acquired in July? The platform directly paused all withdrawal operations to migrate infrastructure, and before getting user approval, they integrated EVM-compatible Mezo. At that time, many people were upset, feeling that their assets were being "frozen" artificially. These are old tricks—after an acquisition, changing the architecture, often ignoring user dissatisfaction.

Now, adding Lightning Network support is indeed a remedy, but the underlying issues reflected here are worth cautioning against. A thriving Layer2 ecosystem is a good thing, and Lightning Network’s low-cost instant settlement is practical, but the key is—no matter how fast the technology upgrades, if intermediaries control the withdrawal logic, users remain passive. The collaboration between Spark and Thesis looks professional, but once user experience is disrupted, trust is not easily restored.

So the lesson to learn is: when choosing applications, don’t just look at feature iterations, but also consider the operator’s attitude when problems arise. Platforms that frequently adjust infrastructure or make unilateral decisions pose high risks. Expanding the Lightning Network is a good direction, but don’t forget the bottom line of risk prevention—when can your assets be withdrawn? That’s the standard to test everything.
