The organizers estimate that the conference will gather more than 5,000 participants and about 300 speakers, including regulators, representatives of the financial system, policymakers, and companies from the digital sector in Brazil and abroad.

The event occurs at a time of progress in cryptocurrency regulation in Brazil, with ongoing discussions on topics such as stablecoins, tokenization, digital financial infrastructure, and the integration between the traditional financial system and on-chain technologies. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the practical effects of this regulatory landscape on market development, investment attraction, and institutional adoption of Web3 solutions in the country.

“Brazil is experiencing one of the most significant moments in its recent history regarding digital asset regulation. There is a concrete opportunity to build a model that encourages innovation, increases legal security, and strengthens institutional trust,” says Paula Pascual, founder and CEO of MERGE.

“MERGE São Paulo is precisely created to foster this space for qualified dialogue among regulators, banks, companies, and Web3 projects, connecting Brazil to the sector’s main global agendas,” she adds.

The event organizers anticipate participation from banks, monetary authorities, and national and international regulators. Confirmed institutions include Banco Central do Brasil, BNDES, Banco do Brasil, Santander, Itaú, Bradesco, BTG Pactual, and Visa, as well as foreign agencies and entities such as the National Securities Commission (Argentina), the CNAD of El Salvador, and the Bank of Credit of Bolivia.

The program will be distributed across four simultaneous stages and will cover topics such as stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, financial technology, compliance, regulated innovation, and markets. Activities will be conducted in Portuguese and English, with participation from professionals from Latin America, Europe, and the United States.

The official opening of MERGE São Paulo is scheduled for March 17, 2026, with an institutional event for 400 guests at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, bringing together authorities and executives to discuss the future regulatory and economic landscape of digital assets. On March 18 and 19, the program continues at the World Trade Center São Paulo, with panels, institutional meetings, and networking activities.

Founded in Europe, MERGE has established itself as a forum dedicated to discussions on Web3, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies, with previous editions in Latin America. After visiting Buenos Aires in 2025, the event arrives in São Paulo amid growing regulatory debate in Brazil and the country’s role in the regional digital economy.
