Turkey’s BIST 100 Ends Week Lower

(Türkiye’s main stock index, the BIST 100, closed Friday at 12,792.81 points, marking a daily decline of 2.19% and continuing a week of downward pressure.

The index opened at 13,080.87 points, losing 286.12 points from Thursday’s close. During the day, the BIST 100 reached a high of 13,148.73 and a low of 12,746.23. Market capitalization stood at approximately 12.6 trillion Turkish liras ($286.7 billion), with total trading volume hitting 171 billion liras ($3.9 billion).

Among the constituents, 25 stocks recorded gains while 74 fell compared to the previous close. Commodity and currency movements included gold at $5,144.20 per ounce and Brent crude oil trading at $88.9 per barrel as of 7 pm local time (1600 GMT). The US dollar/Turkish lira rate was 44.0750, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 51.1090, and the British pound traded at 58.9550 liras.)
