Meta Acquires AI Agent Social Platform Moltbook

On March 10th, multiple U.S. media outlets reported that Meta has acquired the AI agent social platform Moltbook. A Meta spokesperson responded to the media, saying, “The Moltbook team will join Meta’s Superintelligence Laboratory (MSL), opening new pathways for AI agents serving individuals and businesses. In this rapidly evolving field, their approach of connecting agents through a resident directory is an innovative move.” Moltbook is a social network created in January this year by Matt Schlicht specifically for AI agents. On Moltbook, agents developed with OpenClaw software can communicate with each other.
