The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation in areas of overlapping regulatory responsibilities, including cryptocurrency asset regulation. Under the agreement, the two agencies will share data and resources, hold joint meetings regularly, and coordinate on enforcement actions, product approvals, and policy interpretations, while allowing some agencies to be dually registered. The document also lists "establishing applicable regulatory frameworks for cryptocurrency assets and other emerging technologies" as one of its core objectives. (CoinDesk)
