Will OpenClaw charge excessive fees? Tencent Cloud responds
People’s Financial News, March 11 — Tencent Cloud issued a statement in response to security issues related to OpenClaw and Tencent “Lobster.” Regarding whether OpenClaw will “recklessly” deduct users’ money, Tencent Cloud explained that a screenshot circulating on social media shows a user incurring high charges of over 200 yuan after installing OpenClaw during a Tencent Cloud charity installation event. After investigation and verification, Tencent Cloud confirmed that these charges were from the user’s previous model invocation history and are not directly related to the charity installation event. It is important to note that installing OpenClaw itself is free, but using large models during operation will incur token fees. Currently, almost all agent tools are similar in this regard.
