Trust Perspective | One Hand Cannot Clap: Actions Reveal Iran's "Peace Wishes"

Abstract generation in progress

Wednesday, March 25. It takes two to tango. As the saying goes, one hand alone cannot clap. Observing the interactions between the U.S. and Iran, focusing on only one side’s “steps” is not enough; whether the entire dance can be completed successfully depends equally on the other side’s ability to keep pace.

Trump claims he is communicating with the “right people,” and that Iran is eager to reach an agreement. He also says Iran has shown good faith by offering a generous gift to the U.S., though the details are kept secret, only revealing that it involves oil and gas, with a huge amount involved. On the other hand, Iran’s response to the negotiations seems less enthusiastic than the U.S. suggests. They only confirm receiving a message from the mediator about U.S. negotiations and continue to launch attacks against neighboring countries.

Many experts point out that even if the conflict ends tomorrow, the chaos caused by the Middle East clashes over the past few weeks will take months to resolve. The global economy cannot afford further turmoil. Hopefully, the U.S. and Iran will seize this opportunity, and real progress can be made in the coming weeks. Otherwise, the market will be disappointed once again, and all bets are off.
