The Hong Kong exchange-traded fund (ETF) market is lively, with E Fund Asia Semiconductor (03486) listing on Thursday (26th). Stone Feng, Chief Market Officer of E Fund Asset Management (Hong Kong), stated that the initial subscription scale was about several hundred million yuan. Although there are already various AI-related industry ETFs in the market, this ETF only tracks Asian semiconductors, which are upstream in the AI industry chain. It aims to become an investment tool for investors to allocate to the AI industry and believes that a diverse market will make the ETF market more active.

Deng Shengxing, Chairman of the Hong Kong Stock Analysts Association, pointed out that thematic index ETFs invest in a basket of stocks. In volatile markets, they offer risk diversification compared to single stocks, making them a relatively safer investment tool.

E Fund Asia Semiconductor ETF tracks the Solactive Asia Semiconductor Select Index, which includes 30 constituent stocks such as SK Hynix, Huahong Semiconductor, TSMC, and SMIC. The management fee is 0.9%.
