On March 17, Hesai (HSAI.US) announced that the company has joined the NVIDIA Halos AI System Detection Laboratory, the first global project certified by the American National Standards Institute’s ANAB accreditation. As a member, Hesai will conduct assessments and validations of its lidar platform for functional safety, cybersecurity, and AI compliance under this unified framework.

NVIDIA Halos is a full-stack safety system for physical AI, designed to provide a unified security framework for autonomous vehicles and robots. The system covers chips, software, tools, and services, helping to ensure safe development from cloud to vehicle, focusing on AI-based end-to-end autonomous vehicle stacks and other physical AI applications.

Lidar is a core sensing technology in the safety architecture of autonomous driving systems. With high-precision 3D environment perception capabilities, lidar helps autonomous systems identify targets, understand road environments in real-time, and respond promptly to potential risks.

To date, Hesai has delivered over 2 million lidar units worldwide, widely used in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous vehicles, and robotics, serving an expanding commercial platform. Leveraging its industry-leading deployment scale, Hesai continues to participate in building next-generation autonomous driving safety architectures and provides critical perception technology support for numerous advanced autonomous projects globally.
