A U.S. federal court has ruled that a lawsuit against Nvidia and its CEO Jensen Huang, alleging they concealed cryptocurrency mining-related GPU revenue, can proceed as a class action. The lawsuit covers investors from August 10, 2017 to November 15, 2018. Plaintiffs claim the company concealed over $1 billion in GPU sales related to cryptocurrency mining and categorized the revenue under its gaming business segment, causing stock price fluctuations tied to crypto market volatility. The court found that Nvidia failed to prove the relevant disclosures had "no impact" on stock price. The case will move to the next phase of proceedings, with the next case meeting scheduled for April 21. Previously, the SEC fined Nvidia $5.5 million in 2022 for failing to disclose the impact of cryptocurrency mining on its business. (Decrypt)
