# Cryptocurrency News: Multiple Institutions Raise U.S. Recession Probability Forecasts

Cryptocurrency News Network reports that due to prolonged U.S.-Israel-Iran conflicts posing additional downside risks to the U.S. economy, multiple institutions have recently raised their probability forecasts for a U.S. economic recession. According to U.S. reports on the 25th, Moody's Analytics' model shows that the probability of the U.S. economy entering a recession within the next 12 months has risen to 48.6%; Goldman Sachs Group has raised its forecast probability to 30%; Wilmington Trust Company and EY-Parthenon have respectively estimated the probability of U.S. economic recession at 45% and 40%. Under normal circumstances, this probability should be around 20%.

Mark Zandi, Chief Economist at Moody's Analytics, stated that the concerning factor is that recession risks are "uncomfortably high and continuing to rise," with economic recession now representing a real threat. If current high oil prices persist through late May through the end of the second quarter, "the U.S. economy will enter into recession."
