March 26 Morning Close: Domestic futures main contracts mostly rose, with some falling. Gains included methanol, synthetic rubber, asphalt up over 4%, polypropylene up over 2%, PTA, propylene, eggs, container shipping, PX, para-xylene, 20# rubber, urea, crude oil, short fiber, peanuts, and Shanghai silver up over 1%. Declines included palladium down over 4%, platinum down over 3%, glass, japonica rice down over 2%.

Huatai Futures analysts said that the market continues to focus on the progress of US-Iran negotiations, but the conditions set by the US are strict. Iran does not accept the negotiation terms or ceasefire, so attention remains on subsequent developments. Methanol performed with a low opening and a rise later, partly because the US-Iran talks signaled a change from the previous continuous rise in the chemical sector, and partly because the conditions offered by both sides are still difficult to effectively reach, so it remains in a “talk while fighting” stage.
