Embassy Celebrates Pakistan Day, Honours Founders

Doha, Qatar: The Embassy of Pakistan, Doha, Qatar, yesterday celebrated the Pakistan Day in a simple and graceful ceremony.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar, H E Muhammad Aamer hoisted the national flag. The messages of the President of Pakistan, H E Asif Ali Zardari, the Prime Minister of Pakistan H E Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister H E Mohammad Ishaq Dar were read out.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Muhammad Aamer emphasised the historical significance of Pakistan’s creation.

He stressed the importance of educating younger generations on the nation’s origins and noted that our founding fathers’ immense sacrifices represent a debt that today’s generations must honour and repay.

Ambassador also provided an overview of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar.

He highlighted the cordial nature of relationship between Pakistan and Qatar. He said that further efforts were being undertaken consistently to add layers of substantive partnership between Pakistan and Qatar.

Ambassador also thanked and appreciated the people and Government of Qatar especially the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for his continued support and hospitality extended to Pakistani Community and to Pakistan, year after year.

The Ambassador discussed the regional challenges arising from the current situation.

He highlighted Pakistan’s military successes during the conflict last year, specifically noting how the armed forces executed Operation Bunyan

Marsoos to deliver a decisive response.

Keeping in view the instructions from the host authorities, the ceremony was attended only by the officials of the Embassy and it ended with a pledge to continue working for the peace and prosperity of the nation.
