According to monitoring by 1M AI News, Thariq Shihipar, an engineer from the Anthropic Claude Code team, announced on X that to address the growing demand for Claude’s usage, Anthropic is adjusting the session limit allocation for all subscription tiers—free, Pro, and Max—during peak hours. The total weekly limit for users remains unchanged, but during the hours of 5 AM to 11 AM Pacific Time on weekdays (which corresponds to 8 PM to 2 AM Beijing Time due to Daylight Saving Time in the U.S.), the session quota will be consumed more quickly. Shihipar noted that the team has implemented numerous efficiency optimizations to mitigate the impact, but approximately 7% of users will encounter session limits that they previously would not have faced, with Pro subscribers being particularly affected. He advised users running high token-consuming background tasks to move them to off-peak hours to extend their available quota and stated that efforts to expand capacity will continue.
