Abstract generation in progress

The reporter learned from the National Space Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the research team of the National Key Laboratory for Solar Activity and Space Weather at the center has made new progress in the study of the stability of water ice in the Shackleton region of the lunar south pole. The research constructed a thermal stability model for lunar polar water ice by considering the thermal properties of lunar soil under low-temperature conditions and applied it to the Shackleton region in the south pole, conducting high spatial resolution simulations of water ice thermal stability. It studied the local surface radiation, lunar soil temperature, and distribution characteristics of water ice stability areas, and discussed the significance of the simulation results for the detection of water ice by the Chang’e 7 spacecraft in the south pole. This achievement was published in the international academic journal “Planetary Science Journal.” (People’s Financial News)
