Spring Festival travel season, Day 38: The estimated inter-regional population flow across the entire society is 172 million trips.

According to the Ministry of Transport, on March 11 (the 38th day of the Spring Festival travel season, the 23rd day of the first lunar month), the expected inter-regional flow of people across society is 172 million trips, a decrease of 1.7% from the previous period, and an increase of 0.6% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them: the expected railway passenger volume is 9.1 million trips, a decrease of 2.9% from the previous period, and a decrease of 11.5% compared to the same period in 2025. The expected highway flow of people (including non-commercial passenger car trips on highways and ordinary national and provincial roads, as well as commercial highway passenger transport volume) is 160 million trips, a decrease of 1.6% from the previous period, and an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them, the expected commercial highway passenger transport volume is 31.64 million trips, a decrease of 1% from the previous period, and an increase of 1.6% compared to the same period in 2025; the expected non-commercial passenger car trips on highways and ordinary national and provincial roads is 128 million trips, a decrease of 1.8% from the previous period, and an increase of 1.3% compared to the same period in 2025. The expected waterway passenger volume is 630,000 trips, a decrease of 1.5% from the previous period, and an increase of 11.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
