On the evening of March 19, Xiaomi’s new generation SU7 was launched, with the standard version priced at 219,900 yuan, the Pro version priced at 249,900 yuan, and the Max version priced at 303,900 yuan, a decrease of 6,000 to 10,000 yuan compared to the previously announced pre-sale prices.

According to reports, the standard and Pro versions of the new generation SU7 use lithium iron phosphate batteries, with CLTC ranges of 720 km and 902 km, respectively. The Max version uses a ternary lithium battery, with a CLTC range of 835 km.

The price of the new generation SU7 has increased by 4,000 yuan compared to the first generation. Lei Jun previously stated that the new generation SU7 has significantly improved configurations and quality, and the recent price increases in supply chain components have put pressure on costs, necessitating a slight price increase.

Compared to the old model, the new generation SU7 has upgrades in seating, panoramic roof, motors, and driver assistance systems, among others. For example, the new generation SU7 comes standard with the 700 TOPS Nvidia Thor chip and lidar. Lei Jun noted that these hardware configurations are prepared for future software upgrades, with the software currently updated to the XLA cognitive model.

In addition, Lei Jun introduced that the new generation SU7 is equipped with a redundant backup power supply for the door locks, allowing normal unlocking even after a power cut from the power battery colliding with the small battery under extreme conditions. Emergency mechanical handles are installed inside all four doors, allowing doors to be opened even when the central locking is not disengaged.

On January 28, 2026, the mandatory national standard “Safety Technical Requirements for Automobile Door Handles” organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was released, requiring that all new models launched after January 2027 must have a mechanical release function and retain sufficient hand operation space compared to the vehicle’s surface in any state.

On the night of the launch event, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu, Li Auto Chairman Li Xiang, Xpeng Motors Chairman He Xiaopeng, BAIC Group Chairman Zhang Jianyong, Avita Technology Chairman Wang Hui, and Yushu Technology Chairman Wang Xingxing were all present.
