The conflict between the US and Iran remains perplexing, with various assets experiencing significant volatility. Trump’s latest statement adds further uncertainty to the market. Additionally, Iran responded through intermediaries to the US’s 15-point ceasefire proposal, with insiders revealing that after the “12-Day War,” Iran has completely lost confidence in whether the US is genuinely willing to negotiate.

On the US stock market, the three major indexes opened lower but then rallied; as of the time of writing, the Dow Jones has turned positive.

In terms of Chinese concept stocks, the Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index dropped over 1.9%. Among individual stocks, Xpeng Motors fell more than 5%, while Baidu and Alibaba also dropped over 2%.

Gold and silver continue to experience severe fluctuations, but overall remain in a downtrend. Spot gold has once again fallen below $4500, challenging $4400 at one point, while spot silver plummeted over 4%.

In the oil market, WTI crude oil rose nearly 4%, and Brent crude oil surpassed $100.

The situation in the Middle East remains unclear. On March 26, US President Trump suddenly made a strong statement, warning Iran on the social media platform “Truth Social” to “get serious” about the peace agreement with Washington as soon as possible, or face serious consequences.

In a post early on the 26th, Trump stated: “They better ‘get serious’ soon, or it will be too late, because once that happens, there will be ‘no turning back,’ and the consequences will be unimaginable!” He also described the Iranian negotiating representatives as “very different” and claimed that they were “requesting” the US to reach an agreement to end the conflict that has lasted nearly four weeks.

Previously, in a phone interview with AFP on March 23, Trump stated that negotiations with Iran were “progressing very smoothly.”

Furthermore, several US officials and insiders revealed that the Department of Defense is developing a so-called “last strike” military option against Iran, which may include the deployment of ground troops and large-scale airstrikes. Analysts suggest that if diplomatic negotiations do not achieve progress, especially with continued disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the likelihood of an escalation in the situation will further increase. Some US officials believe that ending the conflict through strong military action could provide more leverage for future negotiations.

According to CCTV news on the 26th, Iran formally responded to the US’s 15-point ceasefire proposal through intermediaries last night.

In its response, Iran clearly stated that the aggression and acts of terrorism by the enemy must stop; objective conditions must be created to ensure that war does not recur; there must be a clear commitment to compensate for war damages and its implementation; and all resistance organizations involved in the conflict across all fronts and regions must cease operations.

Iran emphasized that its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is a natural and legitimate right that cannot be changed. The other party must acknowledge and fulfill its commitments.

The insider also emphasized that Iran is acutely aware that the US’s statements about negotiations are merely part of a “third deception” plan. The US, under the guise of seeking peace and wanting to end the war, has ulterior motives: first, to deceive the world by portraying a desire for peace; second, to maintain low global oil prices; and third, to buy time for a new invasion in southern Iran through ground incursions. If prior to the outbreak of the “12-Day War” last year, Iran still had doubts about the negotiation outcomes and the US fulfilling its commitments, after the “12-Day War,” Iran has completely lost confidence in whether the US is genuinely willing to negotiate.

Previously, insiders revealed that the agreement proposed by the US to Iran to end the war includes 15 points, which consist of Iran promising never to develop nuclear weapons and opening the Strait of Hormuz as a “free sea.” Iran has repeatedly denied the US’s so-called negotiation-related information.
