Gorman Brothers, a West Kelowna lumber company, has acquired logging rights for 682,000 cubic metres from Weyerhaeuser in a $120-million deal. This acquisition adds 46,000 hectares near Oliver and several forest licenses in the Merritt and Okanagan areas to Gorman Group’s existing tenure. The Ministry of Forests approved the transfer after a public consultation period, receiving nearly 300 letters of support.
