The National Product Digital Passport Standardization Working Group has been officially established.
People’s Finance and News, March 27—Today, a reporter learned that, with approval from the State Administration for Market Regulation (the National Standards Commission), the National Product Digital Passport Standardization Working Group was officially established in Beijing. This is the first national standardization technical organization set up in our country in the field of product digital passports, marking that standardization work in this area has officially entered a new stage of systematic advancement. As an electronic information record, a product digital passport shares relevant information related to product production, certification, distribution, and recycling in electronic form among supply-chain enterprises, regulatory bodies, and consumers, enabling fast market access for products and real-time traceability across the full life cycle. It is regarded as an important tool for promoting green industrial transformation and sustainable development. The European Union has already, in legislation such as the Sustainable Product Ecodesign Regulation and the Batteries and Waste Batteries Regulation, clearly required products such as batteries and textiles to be equipped with digital passports, creating direct compliance pressure for Chinese export companies. In the face of this international trend, our country has taken the initiative to plan ahead. The newly established National Product Digital Passport Standardization Working Group is an important measure to respond to this challenge from the standpoint of standardization. (CCTV News)
