Iranian President Pezeshkian on March 31 said Iran has a “necessary willingness” to end the war, provided that the other side meets Iran’s demands, especially by making necessary guarantees of not launching attacks.

According to Iran’s Guangming News Agency, Pezeshkian, on the same day, said in a phone call with Charles Michel, the president of the European Council, that the solution to normalize the situation is to stop the aggressive attacks by the United States and Israel. He reiterated that Iran, at any stage, has not sought to escalate tensions or war, and that it “has the necessary willingness to end this war.”

Pezeshkian pointed out that Iran had entered negotiations with the United States in good faith and with a constructive attitude, but it was subjected to illegal attacks midway through the talks. This issue proves that the United States does not believe in diplomacy, and is only “seeking to give orders to realize its greedy intentions.”

Pezeshkian also said, “We respect the sovereignty of neighboring countries and have no intention to attack them. But unfortunately, the United States has established military bases in these countries, and from the territories of these countries it launches attacks against us. These countries have failed to fulfill their international responsibility to prevent their own territory from being used to attack Iran.”

The report said that during the call, Charles Michel emphasized the necessity of stopping the current fighting and tensions. He said European countries would never support this aggression against Iran and believed it violates international law and international rules.

Trump says he will end Iran’s war within “two to three weeks” and calls it “irresponsible” regarding the Strait of Hormuz

On March 31, US President Trump said to the media that the United States may end its military action against Iran within two to three weeks after signing an executive order at the White House.

“We’re about to get out pretty soon,” Trump said. “I think probably in about two or three weeks. We’re going to leave because there’s no reason to keep doing this.”

Trump said he has only one goal, that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons, “and that goal has already been achieved.” US forces are completing the final tasks. “I think we could finish in about two weeks, maybe a few more days.”

Trump also said that if an agreement is reached with Iran, the war could perhaps be ended even earlier. But even if the United States does not reach an agreement with Iran, it can still end the war: “If they’re willing to sit down and talk, that’s fine. But whether they come or not doesn’t matter.”

Regarding restoring navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said the United States does not need to be responsible for the strait. “We have nothing to do with that.” “That is the responsibility of all the countries that need to use this strait.”
