Heavy rains in southeastern Brazil have caused 68 deaths.

Heavy rain in Brazil’s southeastern region has already killed 68 people. Late on February 26, local time, the Fire Department in Brazil’s southeast Minas Gerais state reported that the death toll from flooding disasters caused by heavy rain in places such as Juiz de Fora and Ubá in the state has risen to 68, with another 7 people reported missing. Currently, secondary impacts from the heavy rain disaster—including landslides and building collapses—are unfolding, rescue teams have saved more than 230 people, and over 5,500 others have been displaced.
