A-shares Market Close: The three major indices all rose, with power stocks continuing to surge
Titan Media App reported on March 25 that China’s A-share three major indexes all rose collectively. The Shanghai Composite Index gained 1.3%, to 3,931.84 points; the Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.95%, to 13,801 points; and the ChiNext Price Index climbed 2.01%, to 3,316.97 points. The Beizheng 50 rose 1.48%.
Total trading volume across the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets was about 2,179.83 billion yuan, increasing by approximately 96.961 billion yuan compared with the previous trading day. Across the market, 4,874 stocks rose and 560 stocks fell, including 105 hitting the daily limit up and 4 hitting the daily limit down.
By sector themes, the leading gainers included fiber optics, electric power, copper-cable high-speed interconnects, CPO, airport shipping, travel and hotels, cloud computing power lease, energy metals, liquid-cooled servers, Fujian, education, and sports industry sectors. Oil and gas extraction and services, photovoltaic equipment, and natural gas sectors lagged.
On the trading board, power stocks continued to surge. More than a dozen shares hit limit up, including Tongbao Energy, Huadian Energy, and Energy-Saving Wind Power. The CPO and optical communications sectors moved higher, with multiple stocks hitting limit up, including Yangtze Optical Fibre and Hangdian Co., Ltd. Communication cable stocks strengthened, and several shares hit limit up, including Huarui Technology. Sectors such as the F5G concept, communications equipment, and glass-fiber manufacturing ranked among the top gainers.
A ceasefire plan between Iran and Iraq was revealed; oil and gas shares continued to fall, with Tongyuan Petroleum down more than 7%. The photovoltaic equipment sector’s performance was lackluster, with Yuanbang New Materials leading the declines. Coal stocks broadly fell, with Lu’an Environmental Energy down more than 5%. Only a few sectors recorded declines, such as inverters and thermal coal. (Ke Gubao coverage)
