Nepal's President appoints Bharnendra Shah as the new Prime Minister

On March 27, local time, the office of the President of Nepal announced that Barendra Shaha, a senior leader of the Nepali National Independence Party, has been appointed as the Prime Minister of the new government of Nepal. In the Nepal Federal Parliament House of Representatives election held on March 5 this year, the National Independence Party won 182 seats, becoming the largest party in the House of Representatives and able to form a government independently. On March 26, the National Independence Party nominated Shaha as the leader of its parliamentary party caucus. According to the provisions of the Nepal Constitution, the President shall appoint the leader of the parliamentary caucus of the party holding the majority of seats in the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament as Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister shall form the cabinet.
