JD.com | Over 100 brands launch a billion-yuan double subsidy plan for home appliances and home furnishings
JD.com (09618) has partnered with Haier Smart Home (06690), Midea (00300), and more than 100 other brands to officially launch the “Billion-Plus-Double Subsidies” home appliance and home furnishings plan, providing dedicated subsidy programs and supply-chain support services.
According to the introduction, the plan is designed to eliminate safety risks associated with “over-age” home appliances, bring green smart products into more households, and JD.com plans to work with partner brands to jointly invest RMB 10 billion in dedicated subsidies over the next year, lowering the threshold for consumers to upgrade to new products. On the other hand, JD.com will leverage its supply-chain advantages from large-scale bulk purchasing to help its partner brands reduce costs and improve efficiency.
This JD.com “Billion-Plus-Double Subsidies” plan covers a total of more than 200 subcategories of small and large home appliances and home building materials, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, toilets, and mattresses, fully covering household upgrade needs. Under this subsidy mechanism, when consumers use JD.com’s “trade-in for upgrades” program for home appliances and home furnishings, they can receive an additional 10% upgrade subsidy on top of the national subsidies, up to a maximum.
