On April 2, the official website of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate released a notice stating that Yang Xiaowei is suspected of taking bribes. The Supreme People’s Procuratorate has, in accordance with the law, decided to arrest Yang Xiaowei on suspicion of taking bribes, and designated the Xiangyang Municipal People’s Procuratorate in Hubei Province to review and prosecute the case. Recently, the Xiangyang Municipal People’s Procuratorate has filed a public prosecution with the Xiangyang Municipal Intermediate People’s Court.
The procuratorial authorities allege in the indictment that the defendant Yang Xiaowei, by taking advantage of conveniences arising from his positions—such as deputy general manager of China United Communications Co., Ltd.
