“Training assessment + direct corporate hiring”
Nearly 30 job seekers reached employment-intent agreements with Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town
Jiangmen Daily, March 25 (Text/Photo by Reporter Li Shuheng): On March 25, the “Deliver Skills, Promote Employment” 2026 Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town guest-room service special rapid training and direct-hiring session for Kaiping City was held at the Guangdong Cantonese Cuisine Masters Skills Training Base (Jiangmen·Kaiping) and the Kaiping City High-Skilled Talent Hub. The event was carried out in the form of “training assessment + direct corporate hiring,” and ultimately nearly 30 people reached employment-intent agreements, achieving “skill improvement and job placement in one step.”
That morning, instructors from Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town delivered instruction around the core skills of guest-room service. During the practical training, the trainees were highly enthusiastic, listened carefully to the explanations, observed the demonstrations closely, and practiced repeatedly standard actions such as tossing sheets, tucking corners, and making beds with pillowcases and bedcovers. Everyone also took the initiative to exchange learning experiences, thoroughly mastered the core skills of guest-room service, and their overall service awareness and professional level were significantly improved. In the theoretical classes, under the instructors’ guidance, trainees studied relevant knowledge such as guest-room service procedures and guest-interaction communication techniques.
Nearly 30 outstanding trainees signed employment-intent letters on the spot with Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town, and also received assessments on site. “Through the training, I have systematically mastered hotel guest-room service skills. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to work at Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town. I will participate seriously in the subsequent training assessments, and strive to get hired as soon as possible,” said Ms. Cui, a trainee.
A relevant person in charge of the Kaiping City Vocational Training Center said that this is the center’s first time to carry out a “training + direct hiring” activity. It invited companies to tailor training courses, allowing companies to understand applicants’ hands-on abilities and professional competency intuitively during the training. This not only delivers skills and builds platforms for job seekers, but also broadens recruitment channels for companies.
Since Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town officially began operations in January 2025, the scenic area’s business offerings have continued to diversify, visitor numbers have steadily increased, and the demand for professional talent for guest-room service has become increasingly urgent. Fu Li, deputy manager of the Guest-Room Affairs department of the Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town Hotel Management department, said that the scenic area has long been committed to improving service quality. This activity was efficient and practical; within a single day, it identified multiple outstanding job applicants, providing professional talent reserves for the scenic area.
