Company Profile
BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd. (BOE) was founded in April 1993. It is a leading IoT innovation enterprise that provides smart-port products and professional services for information exchange and human health. It has formed a “1+4+N+ ecosystem chain” development business structure, centered on display, with IoT innovation, sensors and solutions, MLED, and the convergence of smart medicine and engineering.
As a global leader in the display industry, BOE (BOE) guides China’s display sector to grow from nothing to something, from being present to becoming strong. Today, one display panel out of every four smart end devices worldwide comes from BOE (BOE). Its ultra-high-definition, flexible, and micro-display solutions are widely used by well-known brands at home and abroad. According to data from global market research agency Omdia, in 2025, BOE (BOE) ranked number one globally in shipment volume of LCD display panels across five key application areas, including smart phones, tablet computers, laptops, monitors, and televisions.
The IoT innovation business is built on leading industry intelligent manufacturing capabilities and continuously developing IoT technologies, creating an integrated industrial platform of “display components—smart terminals—system solutions.” Through a new ODM model, it provides competitive smart terminal products in fields such as televisions, monitors, laptops, tablet computers, electronic price tags, IoT, and 3D displays. With artificial intelligence and big data as technical support, it focuses on soft-and-hardware integrated products and services, and provides IoT solutions.
The sensors and solutions business focuses on medical care, smart windows, industrial sensors, and other areas, providing customers with professional sensor components and solutions. In medical care, BOE (BOE)’s X-ray flat-panel detector backplane products have been widely used by global high-end medical device companies in the U.S., Europe, Japan, South Korea, and elsewhere. In smart windows, through innovations in photoelectric sensing technology, it provides highly competitive intelligent dimming products and solutions for sectors such as transportation and buildings. Industrial sensors target automation equipment manufacturers and system integrators in industries such as 3C electronics, transportation, new energy, and complete vehicles as well as vehicle parts, offering universal sensors, measurement sensors, embedded vision, and control system products and services.
The MLED business is committed to becoming a leader in MLED display technology. It creates an exquisite visual experience with extreme-performance MLED display products and solutions, empowering every sector of thousands of industries. Relying on three core technologies—“ultimate optics, ultimate thermals, and simplest structure”—it has achieved a comprehensive layout both domestically and internationally across indoor, outdoor, and innovative applications as well as consumer scenarios, while its product competitiveness continues to improve. In direct-view displays, it has launched COG P0.3 and P0.9 glass-substrate ultra-thin HDR MLED products, MPD P0.6 micro-pitch dual-sided screen products, the full series of COB P0.9-1.5 products, and multiple SMD product series, and has achieved important breakthroughs in professional video-display applications. In backlighting, it cooperates with major industry customers to launch high-end display products such as Mini LED, curved designs, and other non-standard forms, covering multiple sub-markets including laptops, monitors, tablets, automotive displays, and commercial displays.
The smart-medical-engineering (smart medicine and engineering) business adheres to an innovative development approach that integrates “medical” and “engineering.” It is people-centered and focuses on households, communities, and hospitals. It builds a health IoT ecosystem supported by digital hospitals and health-and-care communities, with health management as the core and medical-engineering products as the driving force, to provide people with quality and convenient health and medical services. Among them, “medical” continuously enhances the core capabilities of digital hospitals and extends service capabilities to both health management and smart health-and-care endpoints, thereby building a unified care service system integrating prevention, treatment, and care. BOE (BOE) has already laid out five digital hospitals in Beijing, Hefei, Chengdu, Suzhou, and other locations. “Engineering” focuses on the health screen interconnection, molecular testing, and regenerative medicine fields, building an innovative product matrix and system solutions.
As of 2025, BOE has filed more than 100k self-owned patent applications. Among the newly added annual patent applications, invention patent applications account for over 90%, overseas patent applications exceed 33%, and coverage extends to multiple countries and regions including the U.S., Europe, and Japan and Korea. The U.S. patent service agency IFI Claims released a statistical report on the number of U.S. patents granted in 2025. BOE ranks 13th globally, having been included in the global TOP20 for 8 consecutive years. In the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)’s 2025 global ranking of international patent applications, BOE ranks eighth globally with 1,946 PCT patent application filings, entering the global PCT TOP10 for 10 consecutive years.
BOE (BOE) has multiple manufacturing bases in Beijing, Hefei, Chengdu, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Mianyang, Wuhan, Kunming, Suzhou, Ordos, and other locations. Subsidiaries are present in more than 20 countries and regions including the U.S., Germany, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, India, Brazil, and the UAE. Its service system covers major regions worldwide including Europe, the U.S., Asia, and Africa.
