On April 6, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister called on the United Nations to pass a resolution authorizing the use of force to open the Strait of Hormuz, in order to prevent a humanitarian and economic crisis. The Foreign Minister stated, ‘This draft is not seeking to escalate the situation, but aims to provide a framework to prevent further collapse of the international system by emphasizing the necessity of protecting freedom of navigation and transit, as well as preventing further attacks.’ (The Wall Street Journal)
