(MENAFN) Iran’s state media on Saturday alleged that the UAE has entered the active conflict against Tehran, producing what it described as documentary proof of Emirati military involvement.

A state-run broadcaster published a post on X — the US social media platform — asserting that two separate incidents constitute evidence of the UAE’s direct participation in the war.

The broadcaster pointed to the destruction of a Chinese WingLoong-2 drone on April 1, which it described as a system “only in the possession of Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” as well as the interception of what it called an “Emirati Mirage 2000 fighter jet over Iran’s Jask Island on March 22.”

Media was unable to independently verify the claims. The UAE had not issued any immediate response at the time of reporting.

The allegations surface against a backdrop of sharply deteriorating regional stability. A joint US-Israeli offensive launched against Iran on Feb. 28 has killed more than 1,340 people to date, among them then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has since struck back with drone and missile barrages directed at Israel, as well as at Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military assets.
