Qingming Holiday Sees Peak Return Travel: Cross-Region Movement Expected to Reach 840 Million Trips Over the Three-Day Holiday
Today is the last day of the Qingming holiday. The country’s travel is entering a peak period for the return journey, with a clear increase in cross-regional mobility across the whole society. According to data from the Ministry of Transport, during the three-day holiday, the total number of cross-regional person trips across the country is expected to reach 840 million person-times. Passenger volumes on the first day of railway, highway, and civil aviation all exceeded the historical same-period peak. Today, nationwide railways are expected to send 20.8 million passengers, with plans to add 1,369 passenger train trips. (CCTV News)
